2022 Alumni Pitch Event

The Village Launch Alumni Pitch Event was brought to fruition through the generosity of St. Matthew United Methodist Church of Greenville. They provided Village Launch a $10,000 grant to impact the business of one alumni via a Live Pitch Competition. With their support we will award one Alumni with a $10,000.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Village Launch Alumni Pitch Contests is open to all Village Launch Alumni and Nasha Lending Graduates with businesses operating in the Greenville, SC Area. There is no cost to enter into this contest.
The pitch contest is open to alumni who are in the business idea & research stage, starters who are looking to pivot and grow an existing business. Business ideas across a wide range of industries are encouraged.
How It Works
Attend Workshop
To be considered for the live pitch event alumni must attend and participate in the April 9th workshop. This is a 4-hour workshop to help the participants refine their pitch and be better prepared to submit their video pitch for consideration to be a finalist and pitch at the live event.
Submit Video Pitch
Submissions due Sunday, April 24, 2022 at midnight
- Video recording of participant pitching their idea.
- Pitches cannot be longer than 3 minutes.
- Only one pitch per submission.
- Visual aids and props can be used but are not required.
After the submission deadline of April 24, 2022, all video pitches will be scored on originality, the nature of the problem, the viability of the solution, grant impact on the growth of the startup, and overall clarity of their benefits to their target market.
The top five pitches will be selected by a committee to advance to the final round to present their pitches at the live event on May 2nd.
Live Event
The final round for the 2022 Village Launch Alumni Pitch Contest will be an in-person event on Monday, May 2, 2022 at the KROC Center. This event is open to the public.
Each finalist will have 3 minutes to pitch their idea live to a panel of up to 6 judges, with up to five minutes for question and answer.
Visual aids, props or handouts can be used; however, no technology support will be provided.
Finalists will be scored on originality, the nature of the problem, the viability of the solution, grant impact on the growth of the startup, and overall clarity of their benefits to their target market.
