We are looking for mentors from a variety of backgrounds that can offer unique and valuable insights to the entrepreneurs in the program. The mentor role is hands-on and interactive. Your talents and specialties are needed to cultivate and support entrepreneurs with deep connections to the Westside of Greenville.

Having dedicated mentors during our 10-week cohort allows our entrepreneurs the advantage they need to launch their businesses. Mentorship creates a higher rate of success and confidence. Your commitment is essential to not only the development of our entrepreneurs but is an integral part of this program.

The Commitment

The mentor is responsible for one-on-one coaching with the program participants, both in and out of the classroom. Two mentors will be paired to every entrepreneur based on the fit and needs for each entrepreneur.

It is important that mentors attend full sessions so that they can understand the material being provided to the participants. Our cohort is a10-week program that meets Thursday evenings for 3 hours. The first hour is dedicated to follow-up from the previous week and a 45 min guest speaker section. We would like all mentors in attendance at least 2 hours each week and for each mentor to spend one hour outside of class with their participant weekly.

To be a mentor, an individual commits to:

  • Attending weekly sessions.

  • Participating in breakout sessions during class, working directly with your entrepreneur.

  • Meeting an additional hour during the week to check in with your entrepreneur.

  • Providing guidance and connections to business resources that may be helpful to your entrepreneur.
